For purposes of the soundtrack, I'm going to divide it into four parts. Ravensong is a book divided into three parts, though technically it can be argued to be four parts total: the opening chapter, the section titled Three Years One Month Twenty Six Days, followed by the section known as One Year Later and the final section, which I won't name here. I present these songs in order as they go with the narration of the story. I've chosen eighteen songs off my Ravensong playlist (out of 126!) that I think perfectly fit the story I'm telling. I'm usually left with playlists that are dozens of songs long by the end. I tend to make playlists for each new book I start writing, adding music to it as I go until I finish. Music has always been a big part of my writing. All other 3rd party sites to follow in the next week or two. First things first! Ravensong is finally up for pre-order with Dreamspinner.

In this classic tale, Lupin comes up against the only man who may be able to stop him. and possibly the greatest thief in the world. Arsene Lupin is everything you would expect from a French aristocrat - witty, charming, brilliant, sly. Arsene Lupin is definitely more dashing than Sherlock Holmes, and the Maurice LeBlanc stories are more psychologically or "humanly" involved. A masterful thief, his plans frequently evolve into elaborate capers, a precursor to such cinematic creations as "Ocean's Eleven" and "The Sting" or books such as "The Scarlet Pimpernel." Sparkling with amusing banter, these stories-the best of the Lupin series-are outrageous, melodramatic, and literate. They are the target of Arsene Lupin's mischief and tomfoolery. The rich and powerful, and the detective who tries to spoil his fun, however, must beware. The poor and innocent have nothing to fear from him often they profit from his spontaneous generosity. Created by Maurice LeBlanc during the early twentieth century, Arsene Lupin is a witty confidence man and burglar, the Sherlock Holmes of crime. Pro-silver representatives mobbed Bryan as if he’d just scored the winning goal in overtime. Even a few goldbugs were moved to applaud. When he finally concluded, exhausted, an unusually loud and long ovation filled the chamber. Though he’d planned to speak for only an hour, Bryan went on to speak for three, pausing only to sip a concoction of beef broth for refreshment. Senators were drawn to the House chamber, and the public galleries filled. Bryan held the chamber spellbound, and word of his oration spread instantly throughout the Capitol and even the city itself. Work-worn and dust-begrimed, they make their mute appeal, and too often find their cry for help beat in vain against the outer walls, while others, less deserving, gain ready access to legislative halls. On the other side stand an unnumbered throng, those who gave to the Democratic Party a name and for whom it has assumed to speak. “On the one side stand the corporate interests of the United States, the moneyed interests, aggregated wealth and capital, imperious, arrogant, compassionless. When university student Ludwik meets Janusz at a summer agricultural camp, he is fascinated yet wary of this handsome, carefree stranger. Set in early 1980s Poland against the violent decline of Communism, a tender and passionate story of first love between two young men who eventually find themselves on opposite sides of the political divide-a stunningly poetic and heartrending literary debut for fans of André Aciman, Garth Greenwell, and Alan Hollinghurst. Brief Summary of Book: The Professional (The Game Maker, #1) by Kresley Cole The reason a therapist can help a patient isn’t because they’re just “better at life” than the patient. The therapist’s role is to guide patients, not to tell them what to do. Therapy is about helping people understand themselves and take responsibility for their own lives. But if I had to take a stab, I would say the key takeaways for me are: It’s very difficult to summarise the key takeaways of Maybe You Should Talk to Someone. The main focus of the book is on the stories, with Gottlieb’s observations being peripheral. However, my summary is not an accurate reflection of the time spent on each of these in the book. Then I try to group Gottlieb’s insights along some general themes. I first briefly outline the stories in Maybe You Should Talk to Someone (I’ve added spoiler warnings below as appropriate). This summary is therefore a bit different from my normal summaries. In that way, its structure is somewhat similar to Evicted by Matthew Desmond. She also intersperses her thoughts and observations on therapy and life throughout the book. However, Gottlieb writes in a narrative format more familiar to fiction. The book is non-fiction, with patients’ identifying details altered. One of those people is the author, Gottlieb, and we see her perspective both as a therapist and as a patient. Maybe You Should Talk to Someone gives us a peek into the therapy room, and the lives of five different people receiving therapy. I think it was the title, or what the title suggests. But somehow, Under Locke stood out to me in a way that I had to give it a try.
